Shakunage Society
The Shakunage [Rosebay] Society was founded with the objectives of gathering together veterinary and stockbreeding professionals, furthering mutual cooperation, and thereby enhancing technology for general livestock management including hygiene, improvement and rearing control of livestock. As a forum for exchanges among breeders, veterinarians and other livestock professionals who come together with ZENOAQ (Nippon Zenyaku Kogyo) and join forces in research and development, the Society has been making a valuable contribution in partnership with professionals from all over the country.
In March 1969, the Hokkaido Shakunage Society was founded. Thereafter, a meeting of the National Shakunage Society was held with the attendance of professionals from across the country, thus acquainting veterinarians and professionals in related organizations with the objectives of the Shakunage Society. The network has expanded across the nation and there are now 16 Shakunage Societies covering the area of Tokyo, Hokkaido and 34 Prefectures: Hokkaido, Aomori, Iwate, Akita, Yamagata, Miyagi, Fukushima, Kanto, Nagano, Shizuoka, Gifu, Kinki, Chugoku, North Kyushu, Miyazaki and Kagoshima. Every year about 2,000 veterinarians and livestock related professionals take part.
ZENOAQ supports the Shakunage Society by acting as their contact point to ensure smooth running of their operations. We also offer related information via the homepage of the Shakunage Society.
